Do I need to have a colour calibrated monitor on my side to work with an editing agency?Preferably, yes. A color-calibrated workflow on both ends ensures that the images you see on your screen match what we see during editing. While widely used screens like iPhones are generally well-calibrated for reviewing images, computer monitors, MacBooks, and other laptops may require calibration to accurately display white balance, exposure, contrast, and other key details. This reduces turnaround time and lowers costs.

How to send photos for LR/PS edits using Lightroom?Once you've selected the photos that you need edited, we suggest you follow these steps to send them to us through Lightroom. Once the photos are selected, add them to a custom collection and call it something like "Edits for Hey2k" Go to the collection from the left panel and press Ctrl+A to select all of the selected photos within that collection. Once selected, go to the file menu and choose "Export as Catalog..." Once the Export as Catalog dialog box opens, please choose the folder in which you want the LR catalog to be exported and give the catalog a name based on the project like here. Please ensure that ONLY Build/Include Smart Previews is checked if you need LR edits only. ONLY Export Negative Files is checked, if you want LR and PS edits both. A folder with the same name as the Catalog name would be created. Once export is fully finished, please zip this folder using any zipping software and send it to us for editing.

How to import edited photos into Lightroom? If you received the images via an edited Lightroom Catalog (*.lrcat file), please follow these steps to import your edits. Please note: Depending upon the specifications of your computer, these processes can be done really quickly or take a lot of time. Please ensure that one process is completed before moving on to the next. Open your parent catalog from which you exported the photos for editing. Once the catalog is opened, please press G to enter grid view in LR Drag and drop the edited LRCAT file onto LR application in grid view. An import dialog box will open. Please choose to import "Metadata and develop settings only" Next, choose if you want to replace the already existing edits on your own images by unchecking the option "Preserve old settings as a virtual copy" In case you wish to retain your previous edits done on the same photos in the form of a virtual copy, please check this option. Unless you're an advanced user, we don't recommend this since all of your photos will be duplicated causing confusion. Once all photos are imported, press Ctrl+A to select all of the newly imported photos. Then press Ctrl+Alt+U to update all AI masks for all the pictures. Wait for the AI mask update to finish (it may take a long time depending upon how many pictures were sent for editing). Thereafter, go to the Library Menu and under Previews, choose Build Standard-Sized Previews and wait for the preview generation process to finish before reviewing the edits as you normally would.
